Keep It Simple
Good morning fam or good day or perhaps good evening, depending on when you read this! Today I come with a warning for us ALL. BE CAREFUL!! We need to be careful of ALL the information that’s pumping through our minds because we want to get lean and have fit body. We have to be careful not to get caught up in all the perfect bodies being thrown at us from various media sources. It’s so easy to think “I want to look like that” or even “Ugh. I will never look like that.”. It’s easy to try fad diets because it worked for someone else. It’s so very easy to adapt a diet plan that has worked for us in the past and expect it to work again. It’s so very easy to jump on the internet and try to imitate, replicate or duplicate what we see! We ALL do it… BUT (as our pastor always says… that’s a big ole BUT) with so much information at our finger tips, sometimes what we really need is to unplug from it all, step back, and keep it simple!
Dumb it all down and focus on what’s really important. Our health. Our family’s health and what we are teaching our kids. Dumb it down and keep it simple. From where I am sitting the more lean meats, veggies, and fruits we can eat the better. The more water we can drink the better. Chances are if we eat more of that stuff and less of ALL the other stuff then we are headed in the right direction. To me, that is enough. That’s where we need to be. We can’t control how our bodies respond. We can’t make the fat fall off at a rate of 0.33 pounds per day. That’s just not how it works. BUT what can we do? We can make better decisions and use that as our hype fuel. We can be hype about choosing an apple over chips 3 out of 5 days this week. We can be hype about drinking 40 ounces of water each day instead of our normal 20 ounces. We can be hype about feeding our kids a fruit cup instead of mac & cheese. We can be excited about those choices because that is what really matters. That means we are trying. That means we are active in changing our lives. That means we are being Hype4Life!!!
