I was talking to a friend who celebrated a birthday recently and she really looked great! To me she actually looks the same, in the last 12 years I have known her. What surprised me in this encounter it looks like she hasn’t aged at all (I couldn’t say the same). So I asked her what do you do to stay looking vibrant and very little show of aging on your face?
Her answer was simple, in fact too simple to me: “Rev, I go to sleep. I don’t mess around I sleep 7-8 hours each night if not more.” In my mind I am trying to calculate how I can get 7 hours, it’s not even a thought of me getting 8 hours of sleep. As I reflected on her answer it lead me to share a few thoughts on why we need to go to sleep.
Sleep plays an important role in your physical health. For example, sleep is involved in healing and repair of your heart and blood vessels. Ongoing sleep deficiency is a serious problem!
