My man Michael Rubes has tossed out a challenge.  Exercise for 100 days straight!!!!  No breaks / No Sick Time / No Excuses.

Here is the low down from Mr. Rubes:

I propose the 100 Days of Christmas Workout.  There are only two requirements:

1- For 100 days leading up to Christmas, you workout every single day.  No exceptions.  No days off.  Now, every day doesn’t have to be run a full marathon or anything, but to count, it has to be at least 15 minutes of impact workout, or at least 30 minutes of low impact workout.  If you want to run 5 miles, that’s great.  If you want to do a 30 minute yoga stretch routine,  that’s good.  15 minutes of abs and 15 minutes of yoga stretch, that’s good, too.

But you have to do *something* exercise related every single day.

2- At lease once a week, you have to invite someone to workout with you.  A group run in Umstead counts. Lifting at lunch counts.  That person doesn’t HAVE to come workout with you (it is better if they do), but you have to at least extend the invitation to try to get someone else out there.

That’s it. If you want to log your workouts, that would be fund to compare them at the end, but it is not required.  If you want to broadcast to the Hype4Life Fam what your workout was on any given day, that’s good too, but it is not required.  Getting the occasional “Atta Boy” email can be helpful, so letting others in on your 10 mile run accomplishments might be good.

No body fat measurements, no tallying what you eat or drink, no weight loss/gain measurements, just keep your body in motion for 100 days.

15 Sept is Julian day 258.  24 Dec is Julian day 358.  That’s 100 days.  That’s working out on Thanksgiving.  The pre/post dinner football game counts, as long as your are playing and not watching Detroit blow it again.

My Christmas present to myself this year is 100 days of workouts.

  1. I love it! It’s just all around good-move more and encourage others to move more! And it will help me to establish some consistency with just doing SOMETHING everyday. I’m in!

  3. I am on Day 45 of this and doing AWESOME. Of course I JUST noticed that you had provided a tracker. But I use my WW app to keep track.
